Buses and door to door transport

To find out the times of wheelchair accessible buses, please telephone Greater Manchester Public Transport Information Line on 0871 200 22 33 between 8am and 8pm, 7 days a week. If the help line is not able to help, they will direct you to the Bus Company that provides the service.

There are restrictions on the use of scooters on Metrolink which is explained on the TfGM website. General information for Metrolink can be also be found on the website. Please contact Shopmobility Manchester for more information and permits.



All licensed black hackney cabs in Manchester should be available to and accessible for disabled people, with working ramps and seat belts. For complaints contact Manchester City Council Licensing Department.

Trains and train stations

Some local train stations may not be independently accessible, particularly those which have approach routes with steep gradients. Information regarding this matter can be found on the TFGM website.

The National Rail website has information for disabled passengers (National Rail Enquiries) Including basic information on accessibility of approach to stations, scooters on trains, travel assistance, some train stations.
