Accessibility

UserWay’s accessibility menu can be enabled by clicking the accessibility menu icon that appears on the bottom right corner of each page. Or by pressing “CTRL” + “U” keys.

To move down the menu when in large print, use the down arrow on the keyword.

Contrast +
This gives the user the option to change the colour contrast on the site. There are 3 options to choose from:

• inverted colours
• dark contrast colours
• light contrast colours

Highlight Links
Selecting this will highlight all the links on the page.

Bigger Text
This allows the user to increase the size of the text. There are 4 options to choose from.

Text Spacing
This allows the user to increase the spacing between the text. There are 3 options to choose from.

Pause Animations
This allows a user to pause all animations.

Dyslexia Friendly
This allows the user to change the text font to a font which is Dyslexia Friendly. There are 2 options:

• Dyslexia Friendly
• Legible Fonts

Cursor
This allows the user to increase the size of their cursor on the screen.

Tooltips
This allows the user to enable tooltips.

Line Height
This allows the user to increase the line height. There are 3 options to choose from:

• 1.5x
• 1.75x
• 2x

Text Align
This allows the user to align all text. There are 4 options to choose from:

• Align left
• Align right
• Align centre
• Justify

Saturation
This gives the user the option to change the saturation on the site. There are 3 options to choose from:

• Low Saturation
• High Saturation
• Desaturate

• Lynx, a free text only web browser for blind users with refreshable Braille displays. Link: Lynx Browser
• Opera, a browser with in-built speech capability which can assist with reading web content. As well as other accessibility features such as text zooming. Link: Opera accessibility features 
• The Firefox browser also has some excellent plugins to improve Web accessibility. Link: Firefox Accessibility Add-ons
• Both the Apple and Windows operating systems have built in screen reader software. Apple utilises VoiceOver and Windows has Narrator which are free alternatives to paid software such as JAWS or Supernova

For the added benefit of users, we have included a direct link to “Textise.net” which automatically displays a text version of our website. This link can be accessed at the footer (bottom) of every page. This will take you to our text-only version of the homepage, to which you can navigate through to other pages.
